Worked Example: How to Add a Compensation Condition that applies to Schedule Periods

A pet sitting company pays its sitters $7.50 for a 20 minute dog walk in the morning or at midday but $7.00 for the same dog walk in the afternoon.

In this example it's useful to avoid creating a new service for an afternoon dog walk. This will clutter up your service list and make the system less easy to use. Instead we set up a compensation condition and apply it to the standard 20 minute dog walk service so that a lower rate is automatically calculated when the service is scheduled in the afternoon.

ON DESKTOP:

Navigate to Admin > Services > Service Items > Compensation Conditions

STEP 1
  • Click the service item you wish to edit.

  • Click "Add".

This has created a rule which you can now see on the Compensation Conditions list for this service item. This rule will automatically calculate compensation of $7.00 for any 20 minute dog walk that you schedule in an afternoon throughout the whole week.
