Worked Example: How to Add a Compensation Condition that applies to Client Types

A pet sitting company usually pays its sitters $7.50 for a 20 minute dog walk but if the sitter has the staff type "All Star" they are paid $8.00 for the same service.

To automatically apply the higher rate of $8.00 to a subset of staff, set up a staff type and apply it to any sitter that should be charged the higher amount (see Adding a staff type to a staff record for more information). The staff type is then used to create a compensation condition (see instructions below) which is applied to, in this case, a dog walking service. The result is that the compensation due to the subset of sitters (belonging to the staff type 'All Star") will automatically be calculated at the higher rate.

There are three parts to this process;

  • First create your staff type if not already set up

  • Next create your compensation condition by following the directions below

  • Finally, apply your staff type to any staff member who should be receiving the increased rate.

ON DESKTOP:

Navigate to Admin > Services > Service Items > Compensation Conditions

STEP 1

  • Click "Add".

STEP 4

This has created a rule which you can now see on the Compensation Conditions list for this service item. This rule will automatically calculate compensation of $8.00 for any 20 minute dog walk that you schedule for a staff member who has had the staff type Senior Pay level 2 applied to their staff record.

This example where the compensation conditions are applied to staff types apply to the following "If" statements:

  • If staff type is - any existing staff types can be selected from the drop down menu. However, if there isn't a staff type that fits your compensation policy, you will need to create a new one and then apply it to any staff members you want to pay the particular compensation rate to.

ON MOBILE:

STEP 1

  • Tap the Navigator, and select Admin > Services > Service Items > Compensation Conditions

STEP 2

  • Tap the service you wish to edit.

STEP 3

  • Tap the "Compensation Conditions" menu.

STEP 5

  • Select "the staff type is" in the left hand drop down menu

  • Select "Senior Pay level 2" from the second drop down menu

  • Type "8.00" in the panel labelled "Then compensation is"

  • Click "Add".

STEP 6

This has created a rule which you can now see on the Compensation Conditions list for this service item. This rule will automatically calculate compensation of $8.00 for any 20 minute dog walk that you schedule for a staff member who has had the staff type Senior Pay level 2 applied to their staff record.
