< Service Item Time Type

Click Admin > Services > Service Items > Advanced  


The time type for a service item determines whether or not your clients will be able to specify a time for a job when requesting services using the client portal. The available time types are:

 

  • Standard - this is the default time type for service items, so when you create a new service item the time type will be standard, unless you copy data from an existing service item, in which case the time type will be the same as that on the item copied. 

    If a service item has a time type of Standard, your clients will be able to specify a time they would like the job to be carried out when requesting this service from the client portal.
     

  • Time Blocks - the time block is the time period during which the job should be carried out. Use of time blocks is optional, but if a time block has been selected when the job is scheduled, then the time block will be shown in the admin diary entry and the Schedule, staff jobs list and the staff diary. The client is also able to select a time block when they request a service from the online booking system.
     

    In order to be able to schedule a service within a time block, the available time blocks must be set up for the relevant 
    service item. Please see the Service Item Time Blocks help page to find out how to set up time blocks for your services.
     

  • Anytime - set the time type for a service to Anytime if you do not want your client to be able to specify a time for the service, such as reduced price walks where you want to be able to schedule the service according to the availability of your staff.
     

  • All Day - if you offer services such as boarding, day care or overnight stays where you do not need a time to be input by your client when requesting the service, set the time type for these services to "All Day". Then, when your client requests the service from the portal, they will see the text "All Day" on the screen in place of the time input boxes.​

Navigate to Admin > Services > Service Items > Advanced

How do I set the time type on a service item?

  • Click on the service item you wish to edit.

  • Click "Advanced" from the menu.

  • Click the drop down menu by Time Type.

  • Select the appropriate time type for your service item.

  • Click "Update" to save.

ON MOBILE:

STEP 1​​​​

  • Tap the Navigator, and select Admin > Services > Service Items > Advanced

STEP 2

  • Tap the service you wish to edit.

STEP 3

  • Tap the "Advanced" menu.

STEP 4

  • Tap the drop down menu by Time Type.

  • Select the appropriate time type for your service item.

  • Tap "Update" to save.
